BIOL 304 - General Microbiology The nature of microorganisms with an emphasis on bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Microscopy, cell structures and functions, metabolism, genetics, host defense, biological diversity, and environmental issues are investigated. Laboratory included. This course OR BIOL 301 - Introduction to Ecology OR BIOL 323 - Eukaryotic Diversity OR BIOL 331 - Introduction to Evolutionary Biology is required as a core elective for all Biology majors. Students are encouraged to delay enrollment until after completing the Biology core courses.
