Communication Minor

Students in the Communication minor will complete foundational courses that focus on the principal theories, methods, and practices central to both the discipline and communication competence. In those foundational courses, the focus is on the development of speaking, writing, and critical thinking skills. Students will also choose among higher-level courses where the communication principles from foundational courses are applied in different contexts. These courses take a problem-solving approach to learning while students learn more advanced theories, methods, and practices.
For entry into the Communication Minor, the student must have completed the Public Speaking Essential Skills Requirement.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A 2.00 GPA in minor requirements.
- At least 9 hours of the program requirements must be completed at Truman State University.
- There is a minimum of 9 hours of Communication coursework required at the 300-level or higher.
- No grade lower than a “C” is accepted toward the completion of the Communication Minor.

Program Requirements:
The Communication Minor requires the successful completion of at least 18 credits of the following courses: Electives: 9 or more Credits
Select electives from the Communication curriculum at the 300-level or higher to total at least 18 hours in the minor. |
