The Spanish minor for the professions enhances the students major by equipping them with language skills and cultural knowledge for professional purposes. In addition to grammar, composition, and conversation, students can take Spanish for Business or Spanish for the Health Professions and choose their own mix of third-year courses.
As a Spanish-speaking professional who can clearly communicate with colleagues, clients, or patients, they broaden their career opportunities in an increasingly global world.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A 2.00 GPA in minor requirements.
- At least nine hours of the program requirements must be completed at Truman State University or through a Truman State University led program, unless a greater number of credits at Truman are specified by the Spanish discipline.
- The “Spanish Minor for the Professions: Health or Business” consists of five courses beyond the Intermediate II level and the successful completion of 15 credits.
- Only one Spanish minor can be pursued.
- Students earning a Spanish Minor for the Professions may not also earn a Modern Languages: Spanish major.
- No grade of ‘D’ is accepted toward the Spanish Minor for the Professions.
