STEM Research Minor

By earning this minor, students will learn more about interdisciplinary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) research, design their own research projects, practice oral and written scientific communication skills, interact with professional scientists, discuss scientific literature, and conduct research and scholarship in STEM fields.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A 2.00 GPA in minor requirements.
- Required courses must be completed at Truman State University.
- High-Impact Research Experience in a STEM field as evidenced by course credit (see Part B electives below). Examples of experiences include: TruScholars/IRCG, research with a faculty member resulting in a SRC presentation or external conference presentation, McNair INDV completion, departmental honors research and presentation, or REU/SURF.

Program Requirements:
The STEM Research Minor requires a minimum of 15 credits. Required Courses (6-7 credits):
Electives (8-9 credits):
Select two courses from Part A and one course from Part B. Part A: Introductory STEM Courses
At least seven credits of the minor are met by completion of an introductory majors-level sequence in any STEM discipline: Part B: Credit-Bearing, High-Impact Research Experience in a STEM Field
All students must have a credit-bearing, high-impact experience in STEM by completing one of the following courses: |
